About Me

I have lived in the USA all my life, but have always loved to travel.  I’ve journeyed throughout North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.  I’ve climbed mountains in Patagonia, hiked the jungles of Peru, stood atop the Eiffel Tower in Paris, gone on safari in Tanzania, and swam around the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

In 2012, my Dad suffered a massive stroke.  It happened in an instant, but the impact forever changed his life, my family, and our friends.  Around the same time, a close friend developed soft tissue sarcoma.  In the aftermath of these events, I have come to realize that it is not good enough to work hard today for a better tomorrow.  Instead, truly experiencing what life has to offer entails both setting yourself up for a great future AND living in the moment.  I have come to realize the importance of fulfilling lifelong dreams throughout the course of your life.

At a transition point in my career, I’m embarking on a learning journey to Southeast Asia for introspective self-discovery, intriguing cultures, and, of course, awesome food.  I am wandering with intent, set on living in the moment and getting the most out of my travel and life experiences.  My goal is to share with you what I learn, as well as provide you insight into how I plan and experience my trip in case you care to do the same.

Please contact me with suggestions, comments, and thoughts regarding my blog, or if you are in the Southeast Asia area and interested in meeting up.  I can be reached by email here.
