It has been awhile since I have posted. A month into my trip, I have spent time in Singapore, Indonesia (Yogyakarta, Mt Bromo, and Bali) and Southern Thailand (Koh Tao). I am now enroute to Malaysia via train, where I’ll spend a week traveling through Penang, Cameron Highlands, and Kuala Lumpur.
I’ve sketched out a rough outline for the rest of my trip as well:
–Malaysia for 1 week: Penang, Cameroon Highlands, Kuala Lumpur
–Fly to Northern Thailand, spend 3 weeks in Chiang Mai, Pai, Chiang Rai
–Fly to Luang Prabang in Laos, spend 1 week between there and Vientiene
–Fly to Hanoi in Vietnam, spend 2 weeks traveling from northern to southern Vietnam – Sapa, Halong Bay, Hoi An, HCMC, Mekong Delta
–Flight or bus into Cambodia, spend 1 week in Phoem Penh and Siem Reap (Ankur)
–End the trip in Bangkok, Thailand before heading back to the USA
It has been a lot more challenging than expected to blog. First, internet has been less consistent than expected. Moreover, it is hard to find time to blog, as I am meeting people everywhere I go. The train I am on currently is a 14 hour trip, and I was looking forward to having plenty of time to write before meeting a Malaysian and Irishman who I have been talking with for much of the ride. When there was finally a break in the discussion, an Austrailian came over and started giving his view on American politics.
More busy then expected – I hope to catch up soon in my blogging. Thanks for your support!
